It’s been another really busy few days at StowBags central. After a week of frantic sewing and a my trusty Skoda having something of a wobble I’ve managed to get myself to the Brancepth Castle Christmas Fair. Despite some serious sleep deprivation and an epic journey I’ve been bringing plenty of StowBags love to the good people of the North.
Its always nice to get out and meet my customers and to have a chance to catch up with some of my lovely bespokers and chat about styles ideas and mutual fabric obsessions. This fair I will be showing some of my new bag shapes. The Minnie , in particular, is prooving very popular. This miniature version of the Tilly Messenger bag is a great size for carrying essentials without throwing your back into spasm from the weight of the million and one things we think we need to carry. This seasons fabrics range from soft laminated cottons in vintage and retro prints to the bright and cheery Superheroes of DC comics and Marvel. I’ve also included some ‘Ta Da’ bags which have more muted exteriors and bright and funky linings for those customers who would like their bag to be a little more classic and understated.
The Brancepeth Fair is also an opportunity to deliver bespoke orders and I’m looking forward to watch excited faces as I hand over my latest bespoke creations . There is nothing nicer than having made a bag with a particular client in mind and knowing you are making them exactly the bag they are after. I love each stage of the process from researching available fabrics to finalising desgin briefs to the pattern making, assembling etc. The best part is the delivery and handing over another handcrafted StowBags original.
